Assess Your Progress!
What areas do you think you can improve on? What skills need some polishing? How are your mock interviews going? How comfortable do you feel answering coding/programming/engineering questions? With only 1-3 months of time before the interview, consider these tips to help you in this stage.
Track Your Progress
Make a list or create a spreadsheet. Find an easy to way to track your progress and projects as well as the areas that require your attention. Perhaps you need to become more proficient in programming languages like Java or C++ or maybe you need to introduce more collaborative projects through hackathons. Staying organized will make it easier for you to be mindful of these specific areas and skills that need improvement.
Small Projects
If there are areas or technical skills you feel that you can brush up on, then take on mini-projects that will give you the experience you need. These projects will allow you to fully understand key concepts that may be required for a particular interview question or an internship in general.
Mock Interviews (continued)
Don’t stop practicing! We can’t stress enough how important it is to test your communication and presentation skills through mock interviews. Make sure to try them out with different individuals. Perhaps a faculty member or mentor is open to helping you with this?
