Prepare and Research!

You are a week away. Get the logistics taken care of first so that you have more time to think about the actual interview.  Here is a checklist of things to consider doing early:

  • Get your outfit cleaned and ready. Try it on to make sure it’s the look you want.
  • For phone interviews, make sure you have a working headset to make longer conversations easier.
  • Schedule one final mock interview to keep the interview experience fresh on your mind.
  • Confirm that everything is updated on your resume and print 10 copies.

After getting these taken care of, you can begin to really focus on the company and internship position you are aiming to get. Consider researching the company’s website and social media profiles. Interviewers are always impressed if a candidate is familiar with the company’s history and any relevant news on projects and achievements. Also, try and familiarize yourself with the person who will be conducting the interview. Finding some common ground or even mutual connections can be great to introduce during your discussion!
